How do you stay updated on social media platform trends and how would you incorporate them into DIG's content?

I stay updated on social media trends through a mix of daily platform immersion and curated sources. I actively monitor TikTok’s For You Page, Instagram Reels, and X (formerly Twitter) to catch viral formats, audios, and meme trends as they’re emerging. I also follow industry newsletters like Future Social and accounts like @creators and @influencerpaygap to stay in the loop with platform updates and creator economy shifts.For DIG, I’d blend trend-savviness with the brand’s mission. For example, if there’s a trending audio on TikTok that aligns with relatable college life moments or post-grad hustle, I’d use it to spotlight DIG's gigs in a humorous or aspirational way. I’d also incorporate native storytelling formats—like “day in the life” or “get ready with me” styles—to feature real student creators working with DIG. The goal is to ride the wave of virality while keeping the content purpose-driven and aligned with DIG’s voice: energetic, empowering, and unapologetically Gen Z.
