How would you find the “magic moment” in a user’s journey for Robyn?

To find the “magic moment" in a user’s journey for Robyn, I would start by mapping out the core user flows and identifying the point where users first experience clear, personal value such as successfully completing an action that solves a real problem or delivers delight. I’d use analytics tools like Posthog and Firebase to track user behavior from onboarding through key feature interactions, looking for patterns where engagement and retention spike. By combining quantitative data (e.g., time to first successful task, repeat usage rates) with qualitative feedback from in app surveys or user interviews, I’d pinpoint the moment users feel that “aha” experience. Once identified, I’d run experiments to reduce friction and accelerate time to delight, ensuring more users reach that magic moment quickly and consistently .

Share a growth or retention experiment you’ve run (or would run). What tools did you use?

One growth experiment I would run for a app is testing how personalized notifications impact daily active user retention. I’d segment users based on their engagement patterns and send tailored push notifications like reminders about trending content or personalized recommendations at different times of day. I’d use tools like Firebase for A/B testing and push delivery, and Posthog to track retention metrics, session length, and feature usage. By analyzing which messages and timings drive users back into the app, I could identify the most effective strategies to boost retention and inform future product iterations

What’s a Gen Z-focused app you love and why?

If I had to pick one Gen Z-focused app I truly love, it’s TikTok. For me, TikTok isn’t just a place to scroll it's where I feel understood, entertained, and inspired all at once. The algorithm somehow always knows when I need a laugh or a bit of motivation, and I love how anyone can have a voice or even build a career there, regardless of their background. Especially in today’s tough economy, seeing people turn creativity into opportunity is genuinely uplifting. More than any other app, TikTok feels raw, real, and emotionally resonant, and that’s why it’s my go-to platform and such an important window into Gen Z culture.
