During my Love Island campaign, I managed a multi-platform social media strategy that included creating engaging posts, reels, and stories, coordinating influencer partnerships, and leveraging trending hashtags to maximize visibility. I produced over 30 posts and 15 short-form videos across Instagram and TikTok, partnered with key micro-influencers to amplify reach, and implemented interactive features like polls, quizzes, and user-generated content challenges. As a result, the campaign achieved significant outcomes: Followers: Increased the show’s Instagram and TikTok following by 18% over the campaign period. Engagement: Boosted average post engagement by 25%, with video views reaching over 500k on TikTok. To stay updated on TikTok and Instagram trends, I combine direct platform observation, industry resources, and community engagement: Active Platform Browsing Spend time daily on TikTok’s “For You Page” and Instagram’s Explore page to see what content is gaining traction. Observe trending sounds, challenges, effects, and hashtags in real time. Follow Trend Curators & Influencers Follow creators and trend-focused accounts that post viral content regularly. Watch how successful influencers adapt trends to different niches. Use Trend Analytics Tools Platforms like TikTok Creative Center, TrendTok, Later, Trendinalia, or Hashtagify show trending hashtags, sounds, and content themes. Analyze engagement data to see which trends are performing best. Join Creator & Marketing Communities Participate in Discord groups, Slack communities, and Reddit threads dedicated to TikTok/Instagram trends. Exchange insights with other creators or marketers about what’s working. Monitor Pop Culture & News Many trends tie into music releases, viral news, or pop culture moments, so keeping up with music charts, memes, and media stories helps anticipate trends. Test and Iterate Quickly Experiment with trends as soon as they appear. If something resonates, replicate the format with your brand twist. Track analytics to identify what sticks with your audience.
