Inner Journey: Mental Clarity
Campus Brand Ambassador

What are you involved with on campus that would be relevant to this position?
My campus involvement uniquely positions me to execute every aspect of this role by bridging social, wellness, and professional circles. As an active member of Phi Sigma Kappa, I can leverage the competitive nature of Greek life to drive the required 'download competitions' by challenging my brothers and rival houses to out-perform one another. Simultaneously, my participation in the Meditation and Calisthenics Clubs gives me access to students already invested in self-improvement, making them ideal candidates for authentic interviews about mental clarity. Finally, through Silicon Jackets, I am embedded in a community of high-achieving tech students who are often most at risk for burnout, providing the perfect high-traffic environment for placing reminder cards where they are needed most.

Have you ever struggled to communicate something important to someone close to you?
Yes. As an engineering student, I am trained to view every issue as a technical problem that can be solved with logic. I struggled immensely to admit to my best friend that I was experiencing severe burnout during a difficult semester. I felt a pressure to be the "capable, high-achieving" one, and admitting that I was drowning in stress felt like I was admitting defeat. I kept trying to "optimize" my schedule to hide it, rather than just communicating how I actually felt. When I finally dropped the problem-solver act and just said, "I am really not doing okay," it was incredibly difficult, but it broke down a wall between us and taught me that vulnerability is actually a form of courage.

Why are you interested in working with Inner Journey?
I am interested in Inner Journey because I witness the 'burnout culture' of a rigorous engineering program firsthand every day. I have a personal passion for psychology and digital wellness—specifically finding ways to maintain clarity in a high-stress environment—and I believe mental fitness needs to be as routine as physical fitness. I love that Inner Journey makes these tools accessible and 'human' rather than overly clinical. I am excited to facilitate genuine conversations that break the stigma around stress, using the app as a practical tool to help my peers find balance amidst the chaos of exams and project deadlines.
