which beauty brands are killing it and why?

There is definitely quite a few brands that are doing great in their products and social media. But one that stands out is Rare Beauty. The brand is more accessible and disability friendly, and has shade and color options for all shades of skin. But some of the best marketing is seen on the Rare Beauty account of Selena Gomez just being herself. No gimmicks or trying to gain attention on instagram, just a celebrity acting like a normal person that gets the public to relate.

How does art bring value into your life currently?

One of my favorite hobbies is to go to museums to learn about new artists that aren’t so common to the public. Art provides a new perspective throughout history. Art can be inquisitive or calming. One of my favorite things to do is find new artists on tik tok to buy paintings and prints from that I feel connected to. Real art created by artists that aren’t mass produced and sold at your local Home Goods, is a form of communicating ideas and values with others that opens people to new ways to be heard.

Given the abysmal statistics - why do you think more women are not angel investors?

It boils down to a few different factors on why more women aren’t angel investors. Firstly, there has been a historic disregard of women in positions of power or in financial success. Second, women have to work harder and prove much more when working in the corporate world, which includes starting a company, or even moving into more powerful positions. Due to these factors and the fact that women are often overlooked for loans and investments into their companies, it leads to the outcome of women not being angel investors. If a company focused on these factors and made it more accessible to give more opportunities, you would see a different outcome of women in the corporate world over time.
