How do you ensure your design work aligns with a brand’s tone and audience?

I make sure my design work aligns with a brand’s tone and audience by first researching and understanding their core values, style, and goals. In my academic career at Western University, I’ve had to adapt presentations and visuals for different audiences from classmates to professors, which taught me the importance of tailoring communication for clarity and impact. I apply the same approach in design by combining research, feedback, and attention to detail to ensure the final product reflects the brand’s voice.

Can you share examples of custom map or illustrative design work you’ve done?

Most of my illustrative work comes from my academic career at Western University, where I’ve created detailed biological diagrams, lab visuals, and presentation graphics to clearly communicate complex scientific concepts. While these weren’t traditional custom maps, they required a similar focus on accuracy, clarity, and design — skills I can easily apply to illustrative or map-based projects.
