How do you ensure a design is production-ready and brand consistent?
I make sure that a design is production-ready and brand consistent by combining systematic checks with intentional design decisions throughout the process, not just at the final step. I start by grounding every project in an established visual system including brand guidelines, typography, color palettes, and tone, so consistency is built in from the beginning rather than adjusted later. Whether I’m designing social assets, editorial layouts, or merchandise, I work within grids, reusable components, and style standards to maintain cohesion across formats. From a production standpoint, I make sure everything is set in terms of linked assets, correct color modes, sizing, and export settings, depending on whether the output is for print or digital. I also run final checks for alignment, hierarchy, legibility, accessibility, and platform-specific requirements. Having worked across social media, editorial, and branding contexts, I’m used to preparing assets for real-world use to make sure that my designs not only look polished but are ready to be handed off, published, or scaled confidently while staying true to the brand.

Can you describe your approach to designing social-first content?
My approach to designing social-first content is audience-driven, platform-native, and rooted in storytelling, balancing visual impact with strategic intent. I start by understanding the goal of the content: whether it’s driving event attendance, increasing engagement, or strengthening brand recognition, and tailoring visuals specifically for how audiences consume content on platforms like Instagram and TikTok. Rather than repurposing print or long-form designs, I design motion-led, scroll-stopping assets that prioritize hierarchy, clarity, and immediacy. Through my roles like social media chair for the Korean Student Association and Multimedia Intern at the International Institute of New England, I’ve developed cohesive design systems for social that maintain brand consistency while remaining flexible for trends and rapid iteration, contributing to measurable growth in engagement and reach. I rely heavily on Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign alongside tools like Canva and CapCut to move efficiently from concept to execution, often testing variations to see what resonates most. Overall, I treat social content as both a creative and strategic discipline, where I combine strong visual design, motion, and narrative with real-world performance metrics to create content that feels authentic, timely, and effective.
