A meaningful events I’ve organized was a community basketball tournament fundraiser for a nonprofit that supports individuals with special needs. I took the lead on everything from securing the venue and recruiting teams to managing promotions, sponsorships, and day-of logistics. We brought together over 100 attendees, including local businesses and community members, and raised significant funds that directly supported adaptive programs and resources for that nonprofit. Throughout the event, many parents expressed that they were grateful to have someone actually makes an effort to help the nonprofit and create a safe space for their kids who were participants in the program. Additionally, they and their children, went on to express that they really enjoy the program and are excited to have us shape its direction and growth. Hearing their experiences and gratitude grounded the entire experience, where it showed their emotions were not just about organizing a great event, but rather about creating something that had a real and personal impact. It reminded me the impact of community when people rally around a cause, and that’s exactly the kind of energy I bring to each company or organization I work with.

A few months ago, there was an older gentleman at a farmer's market having trouble managing his booth during a sudden rush of customers. Even though we did not know each other and there was no obligation to help, I offered to assist with bagging produce until the crowd thinned out. Later, he told me he had recently lost his helper and was struggling to keep up. Staying a bit longer to help him reorganize for the next wave, it built an instant sense of trust and connection. Moments like that reinforce that there is strength in showing up for others, even in unexpected ways, which is a takeaway I bring to every community I work with.
