How would you create content to engage and grow on social media, by appealing to both environmental causes and typical skincare routines?
1. Educational Posts
Create educational posts that explain the environmental impact of traditional skincare products. i.e. microplastics in cosmetics, excessive packaging, animal testing, etc.
Tie in the benefits of eco-friendly skincare and how natural ingredients can not only benefit the consumer but also the environment.
2. Product recommendations
- Make it not just about being eco-friendly, but be genuine and honest reviews about the products themselves.
3. Start a series of GRWM that goes into sustainability and environmental facts.
4. Use trends to spread information about the negative impact of certain practices in the skincare industry and how the advertised products are a solution.
5. Storytelling -- be honest about finding the product and why I chose to choose more eco-friendly products.
What's one brand that's killing their social media strategy? What are they doing so well?
Fenty Beauty
- Great products which leads to lots of good reviews and good organic content
- Post consistently on their socials
- Promoting diversity by posting people of all different backgrounds
- Influencer marketing, teaming up with some very relevant actors, actresses, models, etc who then post about their products
They are literally doing everything right. First it starts with a great product, and then strategic marketing that is relatable, aesthetic, and interesting to the consumer. They achieve this goal through UGC content, partnering with influencers, and creating an aesthetically appealing feed.
