What tools do you prefer for designing marketing assets and why?
I prefer designing assets in ibisPaintX as I have creative control over the design in the canvas. I would like to be able to learn more Adobe tools to replace these, and I have been practicing with Affinity to improve my skills (it is also easier to integrate across Canva). Canva is an optimal option for compiling assets into meaningful poster designs.

What graphic design work have you done in the past?
Owned all visual branding and marketing across social media and recruitment channels. Designed a comprehensive suite of poster templates and digital assets in Canva and ibisPaintX, establishing a cohesive design system rooted in a tech-forward isometric aesthetic — consistent with the organization's website and overall brand identity. Design work leaned heavily into isometric illustration: flat 3D-perspective geometric shapes, grid-aligned compositions, and a restrained color palette of deep blues, teals, and sharp accent colors to evoke a clean, modern software feel. Maintained typographic hierarchy using sans-serif type pairings, deliberate negative space, and modular layout grids to ensure visual consistency across all assets regardless of format or size. Applied principles of visual hierarchy and contrast to guide viewer attention — leading with bold headline treatments and pairing them with icon-driven supporting graphics to communicate information quickly in high-scroll social environments. Ensured all templates were reusable and scalable, so content could be produced at volume without sacrificing brand cohesion. Results: drove an 80% increase in undergraduate student engagement and a 40% lift in LinkedIn traffic from sponsors and nonprofit partners.
