Do you feel stronger creating static posts (single photos or photo carousels), video content, or both? Why?

I feel strongest using both formats, but with clear intention behind each. Instagram is where I lean into static photos because the platform is more curated and editorial, which works well for highlighting outfits and details. TikTok is where video shines for me. Video feels more natural to my personality and allows me to tell a fuller story, show my day, and integrate fashion into real life moments. Since most of my audience engages through video, it’s also the format I enjoy creating the most.

How would you create Nuuly content in your everyday college life? Walk us through how you’d style and showcase one Nuuly rental across a full day (ex: class, errands, going out).

I’d film a full Stanford day wearing one Nuuly rental, starting with a morning walk on campus and getting ready in my dorm. I’d show the outfit in real life going to class, grabbing lunch and coffee, and interacting with friends who naturally comment on what I’m wearing. As an RA in a frosh dorm with 130 first-years, I’d capture candid moments of residents asking where the outfit is from or complimenting it. I’d also show the look carrying me through sorority events, Women in Tech and CS meetings, lectures, dinners, and company events. The content would highlight that even at Stanford, where everyone is smart and busy, style can still feel effortless and fun.

Gen Z Panel — San Francisco

How would you answer this question: What signals tell you a brand ‘gets’ Gen Z versus when they’re obviously trying too hard?

A brand gets Gen Z when it feels effortless. Timing matters, and execution matters even more. Gen Z humor is usually dry and "nonchalant" while Gen Z impersonator humor is a bit too enthusiastic with a hint of "I just had ChatGPT explain what '67' means 10 minutes ago".

The “demure” trend was a great example. Some brands understood the tone and timing. And others just arrived too late or did it wrong.
