At my college job with Snag, I would either deliver items on a scooter in Isla Vista as a driver, or pack said orders in the warehouse as the shift lead. There was one occasion at Snag where I came into the warehouse to pick up a snack as I was walking home one night. It was a really busy night as it was Halloween weekend and the store was completely slammed and there were many orders backed up. I decided to stay and help pack orders for almost an hour, which helped get the orders out a lot faster. I headed home right before they closed as I figured I had helped enough, just for one of the drivers to call me about 20 minutes later saying that the shift lead for the night had locked up the store before she had been able to get back and he wasn't picking up his phone. Only shift leads were able to open and close the store, so I went back to the warehouse to open it up for her so she could get her things and put away her scooter. Upon arrival, I saw that the previous shift lead had just given up and left 5-7 orders undelivered and had just headed home, so I sent the driver home and restocked all the items as well as logged down the undelivered orders so I could contact the customers when the store opened the next day, and let my boss know which orders to refund. I became good friends with the driver who I let into the store that night, as well as the shift lead from that night as I didn't tell my boss what happened since I knew that it had been a long and rough night, and I think that this helped me earn their respect and definitely helped our relationships with each other grow.
