What strategies do you use to maintain authenticity in user-generated content?
I maintain authenticity in user generated content by keeping the focus on real experiences, not overly scripted messaging. I start by understanding the audience’s mindset, what they care about, how they speak, and what feels genuine to them. When creating or guiding UGC, I make sure the tone sounds like a real person sharing something they actually use or enjoy, rather than a brand trying to sell.
I also prioritize natural storytelling over perfection. That means leaving in small, human moments like laughter, casual language, or little imperfections that make the content feel relatable. I think about what would make someone stop scrolling and say, “That feels like me.” Lastly, I make sure any brand mentions or CTAs fit seamlessly into the story instead of feeling forced. Authenticity always comes from connection, so I approach every piece of content like a conversation, not a commercial.

How would you create content that connects with student users?
I’d create content that connects with student users by focusing on what actually feels real and relatable to them. Students can spot overly polished or corporate content a mile away, so I’d keep the tone conversational and authentic, like something they’d actually see on their For You page. I’d highlight everyday student experiences, from study sessions and deadlines to those small wins that make college life fun, and mix in humor, trending sounds, and storytelling.
I’d also pay attention to what’s trending among students online, whether that’s a specific sound, meme format, or style of “POV” content, and adapt those trends in a way that fits the brand naturally. The goal would be to make content that feels like it’s coming from a fellow student rather than a company, so it builds trust, relatability, and genuine engagement.

Yes, very! I have a car phone mount for when I film in my car.
