Can you describe a successful influencer marketing campaign you were involved in?

I haven't run an influencer marketing campaign, but as VP of Marketing at the Center for Entrepreneurship and Economic Development (CEED) at NCCU, I’ve successfully increased key marketing metrics through strategic content planning and audience engagement. One notable success was optimizing CEED’s social media presence across LinkedIn and Instagram. By developing a consistent content strategy, including engaging storytelling, event highlights, and educational posts, I helped grow audience engagement and visibility.

Some wins:

  1. Higher Engagement Rates – Through interactive posts, strategic hashtags, and compelling visuals, we increased comments, shares, and interactions.

  2. Boosted Attendance for Events – By creating targeted promotions and countdown campaigns, we saw increased participation in CEED-hosted workshops.

  3. Improved LinkedIn Performance – By refining our professional content strategy, CEED’s LinkedIn metrics saw an uplift in impressions and engagement.

  4. Brand Consistency – Developing a brand kit ensured cohesive messaging across all platforms, strengthening CEED’s digital identity. These efforts reflect the power of strong digital marketing strategies—similar to how an influencer campaign builds brand awareness and engagement, I’ve applied those principles to grow CEED’s reach and impact.

How do you approach identifying the right influencers for a campaign?

  1. Set Clear Goals – Define whether you want brand awareness, engagement, or sales.

  2. Know Your Audience – Choose influencers whose followers match your target demographics.

  3. Select the Right Influencer Type:

    1. Nano (1K-10K) – High trust, niche engagement.

    2. Micro (10K-100K) – Good reach, affordable.

    3. Macro (100K-1M) – Wider exposure.

    4. Mega (1M+) – Celebrity-level visibility.

  4. Research & Verify – Use tools like Upfluence, AspireIQ, or HypeAuditor to check engagement, content quality, and audience authenticity.

  5. Engage & Collaborate – Build a relationship before outreach, personalize pitches, and set clear expectations.

  6. Track Performance – Use UTM links, discount codes, and analytics to measure success.
