What makes UGC content effective on Instagram Reels and TikTok?

UGC content works best when it feels authentic, relatable, and entertaining. Instead of looking overly polished, effective UGC uses real-life experiences, humor, and storytelling that viewers can instantly connect to. Short, engaging hooks in the first 3 seconds, paired with trending audios or captions, grab attention and keep people watching. What makes it powerful is that it feels like advice from a friend rather than an ad, which builds trust and makes the content shareable.

How would you create a humorous yet authentic TikTok ad for a hormone wellness brand?

I’d create a TikTok that starts with a super relatable moment — like me dramatically spiraling over something small (‘They forgot extra sauce?!’) with text on screen saying ‘me before my period hits.’ Then, I’d cut to a fun, upbeat transition showing Not Today, Estrogen with the caption: ‘me when balance is restored .’ I’d keep it light, funny, and conversational, while still clearly showing the problem (hormone mood swings) and solution (the product).
