what's a creative way you would lead sampling efforts both on and off campus?
I’d love to lead ColourPop sampling efforts through my South Asian dance group at Bryn Mawr College. We perform various styles like Bhangra, Bollywood, and Bharatanatyam, as well as hip hop and contemporary fusion pieces. A big part of our show routine is getting ready, so I’d show how we actually use ColourPop as a team with GRWMs and dance TikToks that include multiple dancers who use ColourPop products. I would also show stage clips of the performance so viewers can see how the colors read under lights and in motion. Additionally, I’d combine ColourPop looks with other South Asian art like henna designs, and also with events like Holi, the festival of colors. I’d love to create a series of bold eyeshadow looks inspired by Holi colors while briefly explaining the Festival of Colors.

How would you engage your audience to promote ColourPop products?
I’d engage my audience by connecting ColourPop to moments I already share, like dance and concerts. I’d film GRWMs for rehearsals and performances using ColourPop, then include a short clip at the end so viewers can see how the makeup looks while I’m moving and under stage lighting. I’d also do concert GRWMs, with getting ready and a few seconds from the night so the products feel like the authentic part of my life that they are. Since I’m also balancing MCAT studying and writing my Classics thesis on dance and female life transitions, I’d add “look good, feel good, study good” videos where I do a quick ColourPop look before studying as part of my routine.

what do you love about colourpop?
Dance and ColourPop have been constants in my life. I grew up doing Bhangra, Bollywood, Bharatanatyam, and Kuthu, and when the pandemic paused dance, ColourPop stayed in my routine as my creative outlet, especially experimenting with eye shadow colors like purples and oranges. Now that I’m performing again, I still reach for ColourPop when I’m getting ready for rehearsals and shows because the colors read well and let me have fun with a look that matches the energy of what I’m dancing. Outside of performances, their lip oils and glosses are also a staple in my daily life and no look is complete without them!
