What community building experience do you have?
Through my academic and campus experiences, I’m comfortable communicating in group settings, collaborating with peers, and contributing to shared goals. I’m also very familiar with how online communities form around shared interests, especially on platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and Reddit, where I regularly observe how travel, lifestyle, and niche communities interact. While I’m early in formal community management, I’m very confident in my ability to engage people authentically, encourage participation, and help build a space where members feel involved and valued. I’m especially interested in growing in this area because it combines communication, psychology, and digital engagement—three areas I’m already actively developing. 🔥 Why this works You’re doing three important things well: acknowledging no formal experience (honest) reframing your TikTok/content experience as community engagement practice connecting to psychology + behavior (your real edge) ⚡ Optional stronger closer “Even without formal community management experience, I already think in terms of what drives participation, belonging, and sustained engagement in online spaces.” 🧠 Why YOU are actually a strong fit This role is more aligned with you than it looks because you naturally: study human behavior and motivation (biopsychology) understand online engagement dynamics think in terms of patterns, participation, and feedback loops already observe how communities form on TikTok/Reddit/etc. So your honest positioning is actually strong here—you’re not pretending to be a community manager, you’re showing you already think like one in how you engage with content and people.

How would you grow and engage an online travel community?
I would grow and engage an online travel community by combining interest-based discovery, consistent content prompts, and strong community interaction systems that make people want to participate rather than just observe. First, I would focus on finding existing travel enthusiasm where it already lives—TikTok travel content, Reddit travel threads, Instagram reels, and Discord servers—and engaging authentically with those communities. Instead of just promoting the group, I’d look for people already saving, sharing, or commenting on travel content and invite them into a space built around that shared interest. Once the community is growing, I’d prioritize making it feel active and participatory through structured engagement loops. For example, daily or weekly prompts like “Where would you take off to right now if money wasn’t an issue?” or “Drop a hidden gem from a place you’ve visited” to encourage consistent conversation and user-generated content. I would also make the community feel visually and emotionally engaging by highlighting member contributions—such as reposting saved TikToks, travel inspiration boards, or real trip stories—so people feel seen and included in the space. Finally, I’d maintain engagement through consistency, moderation, and responsiveness. A strong community isn’t just about growth—it’s about making people feel like they’re part of something active, shared, and constantly evolving. Overall, my goal would be to turn passive travel inspiration into active community participation and shared excitement.
