Throughout my first year at university, I ensured that I delved into the opportunities it offers. Firstly, I became a Course Representative for the English & History departments, representing them both by liaising between students and staff, requiring me to manage numerous meetings and events, alongside organisational skills so I could succinctly present my cohorts issues. I then became active in the History society and Crochet and Craft Society, where I then ran for and achieved the role of Chairperson within the History society. During my time in this role I was able to plan numerous events, approve of certain society changes and talk at the Ulster University Students Union Awards 2026 where we won an award for ‘Best Course Based Society of The Year’ on top of the STARS Gold Award for creating a welcoming, accessible and multi-event society. Lastly, I wanted to further my communicational skills to the point of learning a language, enrolling within French speaking classes at the university, where I am developing my written and spoken communication skills.
