As a longtime brand on Home From College, Steve Madden had launched numerous content committees, allowing students to share how they incorporate these iconic shoes into their everyday looks. From the Lasso boots for festival season to the Everlie sneakers for heading back to school, Steve Madden gave students the creative freedom to showcase the product through images and videos in the most authentic way to their accounts.

With the rise of Rushtok over the past few years, Steve Madden wanted to showcase why their shoes are the perfect fit for any college occasion. So, they launched their Back-To-School tour in the Fall of 2023, bringing a Steve Madden-branded bus to five campuses across the South: the University of Alabama, the University of Georgia, UT Austin, Florida State University, and Tulane.

To help get the word out at each of these schools before Steve Madden arrived on campus, they enlisted the help of Home From College to launch their campus ambassador program. We recruited 5-7 ambassadors at each of these schools who had experience in content creation and were heavily involved in clubs and Greek life. Students took on a wide range of responsibilities to help make the tour a success, including:

  • Creating pre-tour content for their social channels showing how they style the Everlie shoes

  • Putting up posters across campus promoting the tour

  • Advising the Steve Madden team on the best places to park on campus and potential local businesses to partner with

  • Supporting the tour on campus by helping to manage lines and creating content on the bus

With their ambassador program, Steve Madden built excitement around their tour before it even began and saw huge lines outside the truck at every school. Students loved the opportunity to represent a major fashion brand on their campus and play a part in a hugely successful Back-To-School campaign.
