What strategies do you use to grow a new social media account quickly?

Honestly the fastest way to grow a new account is to stop thinking about followers and start thinking about one video at a time. You only need one piece of content to hit and the algorithm does the rest, so the whole focus early on is finding that hook that lands. For a new account specifically I'd post daily for the first two weeks minimum, not to build an audience but to find out what works. You're essentially running tests. Short, punchy, different hooks on the same idea until something pops.

How would you create engaging hooks for local recommendation videos?

Hooks for this kind of content live or die on one thing, making the viewer feel like they're missing out on something their friends already know.

So I'd lead with that feeling every time. Something like: "My mate sent me this and I haven't stopped going since" "Stop asking Google, ask your actual friends" "This is how I find places now and I'm not going back"

The pattern is always the same, position NowYouKnow as the thing people in the know are already using. That creates pull without it feeling like an ad.

For local recommendation specifically I'd film in the spot itself, coffee in hand, walking into a restaurant, standing outside somewhere that looks genuinely good. The location does half the work. Then the hook just needs to make someone think "wait, how did they find that."
